We are a service group that primarily uses our time and talents to make quilts for a variety of reasons. Prayer quilts are made for our fellow parishioners or their family members, who are seriously ill, have been injured in an accident, or are undergoing surgery. We help traumatized children including those involved in grief counseling, ages 3-18, at Bo’s Place by assembling the quilt blocks they make into wall hangings. And, we provide quilts and other items to the girls at Arrow’s Freedom Place, ages10-18, who have been rescued from sex trafficking.

We give quilts to parishioners who have experienced a disaster such as the aftermath of a hurricane, fire, or flood. Help and support are also given to each other or to those who are brought to our attention.

We make corporals and the purificators used to celebrate the mass. Although we no longer make the vestments worn by our priest and the deacons, we do try to purchase said items for them.

We meet on most Thursdays after the morning mass in room 101 of the CFC building. Many times projects will have to be completed after the meeting on your own.

You should be able to sew and know your sewing machine, be able to read patterns, and be willing to follow directions or ask questions. The ability to quilt your own completed tops is highly desirable.

Although there’s no cost to be a member of this group, you must be willing to purchase your own fabric and other notions.
