Military Care Ministry

The purpose of the Military Care Ministry is to recognize and show support to active military personnel that are family members and friends of St. Edith Stein parishioners. We host four activities throughout the year.

1.  Display of Valor

To recognize, honor and pray for our active military personnel that are famiy members of SES parishioners by displaying their photo and where they are stationed.

2.  Military Care Package Drives

Memorial Day (May) & Veterans Day (November)
Volunteers are needed on the weekends that we hand out and collect the care packages from parishioners. Help is also needed filling out custom forms to send boxes overseas and also preparing boxes. As of November 2011, we have sent out more than 1800 care packages to men and women stationed in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan.

3.  Veteran's Day Mass & Reception

An opportunity each November to honor and recognize our SES Veterans. Volunteers are needed to set up, decorate and help organize this special event.

4.  Fisher House (VA Hospital)

Supporting the Fisher House Veteran's Families by preparing a meal once a month. A social activity is also planned once or twice each year with the help of the Knights of Columbus.
